People gather in Hanuman temples to offer Puja to Hanuman idols and present Satvik food to them as a Puja gift. In various cities of India, it is celebrated with different names. Hanuman food is made for offering to Hanuman and used while breaking Hanuman Vratham.

• In an Indian city named Andhra Pradesh, it is called Hanuman Jayanthi. It is celebrated over forty days in Andhra Pradesh, and Krishna Paksha is also related to this festival. 
• In the cities related to Tamil Nadu, it is arranged as Hanumath Jayanthi and Amavasya; during it is celebrated is called Margashirsha Amavasya. According to the Gregorian calendar, it is arranged in January. 
• Karnataka is a city in India where this festival is celebrated with names like Hanuman Vrathm. People of Karnataka offer fast to Rama and Hanuman on this day and perform Puja of these gods. 

Celebrations on Hanuman Jayanthi

It is an important festival for the lovers of Hanuman but other than Hanuman, Rama and Vishnu is also worshipped on this gala. Hanuman idols are decorated with yellow flowers, and garlands made of yellow flowers are also presented to him. Idols of Hanuman and Vishnu gods are wrapped in yellow clothes, Songs in honour of Rama’s victory are sung in the temple, and Puja to all mentioned gods is presented in the evening of the festival.
