Aadi Amavasai

The event honored to the ancestors is called Aadi Amavasai. The day is arranged in the temples of Aadi, in which prayers are presented to the ancestors. Few Tamils offer fast to the Aadi to get the salvation of their ancestors. There is a gathering of people in the Manders, and the Aadi foods are presented to the Aadi to get relief for the ancestors; it is said that one who offers worship for the ancestor on this Tamil event, all the sins of ancestors will be cleared and will come under the protection of Aadi.
