Adhika Kalashtami

The event to which Ashtami Tithi is linked is called Adhika Kalashtami. This day is also named Kala Ashtmi, and it happened more than once in the same year. Bhairav is the most worshipped God of this Ashtami and is worshipped in the Manders of Kali Mata. This event is also celebrated as the birthday of Bhairav, and the Bhairav idols are decorated with Shiva clothes before the start of the day to offer Shiva prayers to him. 

Information related to Adhika Kalashtami 

Kala Bhairav is the God who is worshipped from one Purnima day to the other Purnima day. Purnima Tithi is the day of Purnima, and the Purnima gods are worshipped with the Ganpati worships like Puja and Vrat Vithi. In northern India, this day is arranged in the holy month according to the Hindu calendar named Margashirsha. While in the southern part of India, this Ashtami is arranged in the Karti according to their calendar. 

Shiva and Bhairav worship 

According to the old ritual people of India, Bhairav is the God of Hindus and the God who has blessed them most on this Ashtami day. The Bhairav is also considered the avatar form of Shiva, and due to this reason, Shiva is worshipped along with Bhairav. The Tithi on which the fast of Kala Ashtami is presented is called Saptami Tithi, and the Ashtami Tithi of this day is called Adhika. Due to Bhairav’s resemblance with this Ashtami, it is also called Bhairav Ashtami.
