Akhuratha Sankashta Chaturthi

Akhuratha Sankashta Chaturthi is the Vrat presented to Ganesha on Paksha named Krishna Paksha. The month in which this Chaturthi Vrat is offered is called Margashirsha. Other than Ganesha, a few other Gods are also worshipped on this Chaturthi. Worships are presented to Maha Ganpati for his blessings in life, and after Maha Ganpati honors, prayers are offered to Durga Peeth for Durga’s blessings.

Akhuratha Sankashta Chaturthi (Rituals)

The Ganpati worshippers get up in the morning, and after bathing, all bath takers move to the temple or where they have to offer Puja to Ganpati. Puja place is cleaned, and the Ganpati pictures are displayed on the walls. Before showing the Ganpati pictures on the walls, they are decorated with flowers, and the garlands are also presented to them. The Stotaram recitation ceremony is started in which all the Ganpati followers recite Ganpati Stotaram for God’s blessings. Archana is the main activity performed as the Puja Vithi is completed. In the charity activities, Daan food named Annadanam is distributed among the deservers.
