May 15, 2023 @ 2:16 am - May 16, 2023 @ 12:33 am IST

Apara Ekadashi

To be free from all the sins; you have committed in the past, celebrate Apara Ekadashi. It is considered the most important Ekdashi among all Ekdashis in the Hindu religion. On this Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu is the main God of all Apara Ekadashi celebrators. He forgives all the Sins of those who offer a strict fast on the day of Apara Ekadashi.

Fasts on Apara Ekadashi

According to the Puranas of the Hindus, two types of fasts are offered on this day, one as a sacred fast and the other as a strict fast. In a strict fast, the fasting has no permission to eat any food, while in a sacred fast, the fasting person has permission to eat a few food items like grains, etc. So, one who offers the strict fast on this day, all their sins are forgiven by the Vishnu. In addition to this, Apara Ekadashi is celebrated in the Holy month of Kartik, which is an important month in the Hindus calendar; then taking a bath in this holy month is also considered the source of getting free from all sins but a bath must be taken in the holy river like Ganga.
