Arudra Darshan

The festival offered to the Shiva and the Shiva relatives are called Arudra Darshan. According to the Gregorian calendar, the event is organized in January, but it is celebrated in the month called Marghazi according to the Tamil calendar. For presenting worship to the Shiva, Tamilnadu calendars are opened at the event. The worships offered at the events are Arudra fast and Arudra Puja. in 2023, it will be presented on the 6th of January.
Rules for fasting on Arudra Darshan
The fast time will be started as the first sun ray will show. The lines written in praise of Shiva are recited in the temples till the end of Fast time. The Fast will be kept on the first day and broken on the event’s second day. There is no permission to eat anything as the fast-keeping time will be ended. Go to the temple of Darshan to view him and to offer Puja to him while the fasting time. It is mandatory to distribute food among the poor before breaking the Fast to get the blessings of Shiva and the relative of Shiva mentioned, Vishnu.
Works on Arudra Darshan
- Get up in the morning and go to holy rivers to bathing
- Offer Puja to the SHIVA in the Shiva temple
- Food will be cooked at the event called Kali.
- Cooked Kali food is taken as Prasad in the temple
- Before handling food, offer Shiva Puja to the Shiva.
- The Natraj temples are also visited at events.
- Offer Puja to the Natraj in respect of Shiva.
- Offer unlimited prayers to Shiva in Shiva temple.
