Astami Rohini

Astami Rohini is the Hindu event on which the birthday of the Shri Krishna is celebrated. Vishnu is considered the primary God on this day. There are many gods called Vishnu Avatars, and Shri Krishna is also among those Vishnu avatars. A few people also called it Janmashtami. The Tithi activity is performed in honour of Shri Krishna and Vishnu, named Astami Tithi, and is primarily arranged in Kerala temples for the Shri Krishna blessings. 

Astami Rohini celebrations

• The Astami fast, called Vishnu, is presented in the temples of Kerala. One day before the event, all the Kerala temples are decorated. 
• The homes are also decorated with tiny lights. Arts of the Shri Krishna are presented on the walls of the houses with red garlands. 
• In honour of Vishnu and Shri Krishna, the older people sing the Bhajans. This activity is performed in the society parks of india. 
• The Shri Krishna food is cooked in the temple and taken by the worshippers. The cooked food is called Dahi Handi. 
• People offer good luck to each other in the temples after celebrations. As it is the age of social media, people update Happy Astami Rohini text on their WhatsApp statuses. 
• According to the religious Shri Krishna followers, one who follows the rules and regulations given by the Shri Krishna will be blessed with unlimited Happiness and joy. 
• The dancing competitions are arranged in the temples, and the winner is awarded the Krishna prize like Krishna’s old idol dress.
