Avani Avittam *Yajurveda

Thread changing ceremony on Avani Avittam *Yajurveda

On the day of Avani Avittam, the thread-changing ceremony is arranged in the temples in which the thread are changed that were worn last year and new colored threads are worn in the ceremony. The people of Tamil Nadu wear it to be protected from evil eyes and remain under God’s protection. After the thread-wearing ceremony, the Puja is offered to the Vishnu by considering the knowledge of God. The wore thread on this event is called Janeye in the Tamil language.
