It is celebrated on special days just after the Holy days. Most Hindus favour celebrating it on Monday, which comes just after the days of Holi.

Traditions on Basoda

There are certain customs of the Hindus that are specific to Basoda. In honour of Basoda, the people of india shut off their kitchens because they thought burning fire on this day could have a bad impact on their lives. Their lives will turn to fire if they burn fire on this day. The fire is only burned in one case. The case in which the Indians burn fire on Basoda is by digging the earth down, and then they use fire rods or wood to burn fire. It is only burned to make food for the Sheetala God.
