Bhaiya Dooj

The day arranged by the boys as the brothers of sisters and by the girls as the sisters of the brothers is called Bhaiya Dooj. in 2023, it will be held on the 15th of November by the Dooj celebrators. All the rituals of the day show a great love of brother with sister and the love of sister with brother. The sisters apply the Tilak to the brother, and the prayers are offered to the Lord for the extended life of the brother. There are different events of the Hindus, and the event to whom this Dooj event relates is called Raksha Bandhan. 

How Bhaiya Dooj is significant

This is the event day when the sisters show their love for their brother. They share precious gifts with the brothers and say best wishes to them. The brothers repeat this event activity, show their love to the sisters as brothers, and present special gifts and good luck to them. The brothers also pray for the best luck and prolonged life of the sister from God. In this way, the event is significant for all girls and boys who are interlinked in the connection of sister-brother. 

Arrangements connected to Bhaiya Dooj

• Start the festival day by taking a holy bath. The sister has to light up Diya and come to the temple for the first Puja. 
• The Puja presented by the sister will be dedicated to God for getting the best wishes from God for the brother. 
• The brother will repeat the same Puja act. The plates in which the Dooj food will be presented to God will be Properly decorated.
• The items used for the plate decoration will be sweets with coconut in the dried form. Roli is also used as plate decoration. 
• The day’s activity is named the praying activity that the brothers for the sisters and the sister for the brothers will perform.
• The festival will be finished with the brother’s promise of the sister’s protection by him and by gifting a decent gift to the sister.
