Buddha Purnima

Siddhartha Gautama’s birthday is when Buddha Purnima is celebrated with great funs and gatherings. According to the literature of the Hindus, another name is also used in place of Siddhartha Gautama, and that one is Gautam Buddha. This day is essential because of the Lord’s birthday with two characters. Buddha Purnima is celebrated by the Hindus and in the community where all people live in Buddhism. There is a great gathering of children and older adults on the day of Buddha Purnima. The shrine of the Lord Gautam Buddha is washed up on this day. There are big Garlands of red and yellow flowers that are offered to the shrine of Lord Gautam Buddha. In addition, the prayers are also provided in the form of great gatherings of people in the main room of Gautam Buddha, where only those persons are present who will offer prayers to the Gautam Buddha.

 It is celebrated like a few other festivals on the day when the moon is in full shine and named full moon day. According to the calendar of Hindus, it is celebrated in the holy month of Vaisakha. The Asian Luni calendar discusses the original date of Buddha Purnima. After discussing the date with all ancient Hindus, it is then told to all the people of the community related to Hinduism and Buddhism so that they make them ready to celebrate the event. Due to occurring in the month of Vaisakha, It is also named Vaisakha Buddha. In 2023, it will be celebrated on Friday. According to the Gregorian calendar, the date for the Buddha Purnima event to be held will be the 26th of May. 

Buddha Purnima (Importance)

Buddha Purnima is significant due to the birthday of Gautama Buddha. This is only the festival for which the arrangements are started from the end of the carnival in one year to the start of the festival in the coming year. It is also related to the Vishnu God and is also celebrated concerning Vishnu because the Buddha is considered the form of Vishnu that came after the ninth number. All of this is under the traditions present in Hinduism. Certain worships are offered on Buddha Purnima day. All the people that want to celebrate the Buddha Purnima come to the temple of Buddha where the washing Buddha Idol ceremony takes place, and there is a tree in Budha named Budhi tree. All the celebrators attend the water pouring ceremony at the Budhi tree base to get its blessings, and Puja is also offered to it. After completing all the celebrations of Buddha Purnima, celebrators return home by taking a few Budhi tress leaves with them to use when someone feels ill.
