Deepawali 12 November

Deepawali is the festival on which Puja is presented to Lakshmi. It is also called Dewali, and its celebrations are related to the Diwali event. As the sunrise on the morning of Diwali, people take a holy bath at Ganga and wear red clothes to present Puja to Goddess. Prayers are offered to Lakshmi to get Lakshmi blessings like salvation from her. After Puja Vidhi, people go to the temple of Vishnu to present Puja to him. 

Celebrations on Deepawali

Lakshmi followers offer fast to Lakshmi and Vishnu for her blessings. As the morning comes, Satvik food is cooked by women and presented to Lakshmi. After giving food to Lakshmi, Lakshmi Puja is performed to get more benefits of fasts. Ganesha’s idols are also decorated, and yellow clothes are given to him. The Parwati models are decorated with jewelry items, and coconut water is presented to her. Few people wash the idols of Parwati with coconut water as a ritual act. 

Lakshmi Puja on Deepawali

Women following Lakshmi offer Puja to her. For offering Puja to Lakshmi, the Lakshmi idols are decorated and washed at Ganga. Puja Mahurat of Lakshmi starts in the evening after Vishnu Puja. Women gather near the idol of Lakshmi and offer prayers to her for the well-being of their children and their long life. Few men offer Puja to Ganesha while offering Puja to Lakshmi. At the end of all worship and ritual acts, Lakshmi idols are washed and wrapped in new charity dresses and placed at the top of the temple.
