Dhanu Sankramam is a Hindu event also called Dhanu Sankranti. This day marks the entry of the Sun to Rashi named Dhanu Rashi. Dhanu Rashi is also called the Sagittarius sign of the Sun, and these sun signs are primarily seen in the Orissa state of india. Various Gods are worshipped on this festival. Most worshipped among those gods is Jagannath God. Sun Worship is also presented to Sun in the evening of this Gala.
Significance of Dhanu Sankramam
It is an important day for those ill due to various diseases as they have to go to the Ganga in the morning to bathe for lifetime health. Worships for the ancestors are also offered in the Vishnu temple for their salvation and blessings. This day is also significant for charity activities. Various charity products like wheat and warm clothes are given to deservers during charity activities.

- Pitru Tarpan is also a part of the Sankraman Japa activity performed after taking a Bath.
- For sun blessings, flower garlands, water, and sun prayers are present to Sun at this event.
