Eid al-Fitr

The festival celebrated at the end of Ramadan is called Eid al-Fitr. The month this day is celebrated, called Shawaal, comes after the Eighth month, according to the Islamic calendar. On this day, all the Muslims of India wear new dresses in various colors. It is also named the day when the fast is broken according to the concept of Muslims. On this event, there is a public holiday in every private and governmental institution. Various types of food are also prepared in the homes, and the whole day is celebrated as joyous. Special prayers are also offered to God to pay thanks for so much happiness. The clothes are given to the poor to make them happy on this great day. In the few families, they cut special homemade cakes as part of Eid in India. 

Charity activities on Eid al-Fitr

The Muslims of India perform great charity activities. A specific name for the charity activity performed on this day is Zakat-Ul-Fitr. Besides the Zakat-ul-Fitr, the gifts are also shared among families and friends. The sweets are given to the sisters as love, the most common trend among people in India. The money in rupees is also provided to small children. Other than the minor children, unlimited money is distributed by the rich people among the poor to add to our happiness. Charity activities are performed in mosques and homes through food distribution among needy people. 

Foods on Eid al-Fitr in India

There are particular foods made in the Indian Muslim shops and homes of the Muslims of India. For breakfast, exceptional food is prepared, named Sheer Khurma. All family members take this meal, which is also an essential activity according to the few Indians. The unique noodles are also prepared for children and older adults on the same day. The milk pudding is given to relatives and neighbors. The excellent noodles prepared have the unique name, Vermicelli noodles.
