Ekadanta Sankashta Chaturthi is the important Ganesha Chaturthi Vrat on which Ganesh and his avatars are worshipped with Sankranti Tithi Puja. Worships of the Ganesha are denoted with the special term, Peetha, and this event is also celebrated in the Vaisakha; as the Vishnu had written the importance of this day in Yudishthira, so Yudhishtra terms related to this day are also recited in the Mander after Puja Vithi.
The significance associated with Ekadanta Sankashta Chaturthi
This day is significant due to the worship of the Ganesha and various Ganesha avatars. According to Ganesha’s followers, Ganesha has also named Vignahartha and the word Vignahartha in the Hindu language means to get free from all obstacles. So by worshipping Ganesha and Ganesha avatars, obstacles from the life of the worshipper person are removed, and he lives a true Ganesha life with happiness.
Rituals about Ekadanta Sankashta Chaturthi
The Ganesha worshipper takes a bath and moves to the temple to present Ganesha worships. The main ritual is to see the moon at night as the festival concludes. After prayers, the lamp is lit, and Puja is dedicated to him for his ancestor’s salvation. A ceremony is arranged in which Ganesha Mantras are recited while seeing the moon; the Sankashti Puja ceremony is celebrated in the Vishnu temples, where Puja is presented to Ganesha’s second avatar. After Ganesha Aartri, Prasad is given to Aartri performers. The liked dish of Ganesha, which includes Jaggery items, is prepared and eaten after concluding Ganesha fast.
