Gayathri Japam

The event celebrated after the celebrations of Shravana Purnima is called Gayathri Japam. All Hindus from all over india arrange it. The Rituals of this event are dedicated to the Gayathri. The temples of the india states related to its southern parts are well decorated, and the Gayathri arts are displayed on the walls in front of the Gayathri idol. The Gayathri fast and Gayathri prayers are the main rituals of this event. 

Rituals related to Gayathri Japam

• The Brahmins of india get up before midnight and come to the Gayathri temple bath or the holy rivers to take a bath. 
• After taking the Gayathri bath, the deities are worshipped. Prayers are offered to them to get their special blessings. 
• After offering prayers to the Gayathri, the Gayathri Mantra recitation ceremony is arranged in which the Mantra is recited more than 108 times. 
• The Gayathri Mantra recitation ceremony and deities ceremonies are arranged in the day, and after these, the Gayathri is worshipped. 
• Few people offer the event worships to the Sun by considering it the primary God. The Sun fast are presented to the Sun to receive his unlimited blessings.
• As the SUN is the God of light, few people, the Tamil Indians, offer Diyas while offering Puja to him, and few provide yellow dresses to him. 
• The thread-wearing ceremony is also arranged on this day in which the few celebrators wear the threads for the Sun’s blessings and to get protection against enemies from Sun.
