Guru Poornima

The day on which importance related to Guru is explained is called Guru Poornima. All the Indian Gurus are worshipped on this festival, and Puja to each Guru is also performed. Tithi on which this event falls is called Purnima Tithi, and the month is called Ashadha. Manters in honor of each Guru are also recited in temples, and Guru idols are washed and taken to the temple to offer them various worship.

Rituals related to Guru Poornima

Guru lovers get up before sunrise and go to Guru temple to offer various activities named Yajna and its related Hawan to Guru. Guru idols are decorated with flowers, and Guru worship is offered to him. Most people go to the Guru Ashram temple for sage worship. Fruits with garlands are presented to Guru for his blessings, and one with no Guru must worship the older person of his home.
