Guruvayur Ekadasi

Guruvayur Ekadasi is an important festival in the Malayalam calendar. It is celebrated in the Vishnu avatar named Shri Krishna temples, and the month of the celebration of this day is called Vrischikam. Gita Jayanti is also arranged in the Gita temples, where the Gita followers perform Gita’s birthday and worship. Last year, it was celebrated on the 4th of December in the south of india.

• The various celebrators on this Ekadashi perform multiple rituals and acts. Among those rituals, the most optimistic tradition is the shining of Ekadahsi lamps. Due to the shining of lights, the Sins of lamp shinners are cleared by Guruvayur. 
• Various items are presented to the Gods. Among those items, the most offered are White foods and bananas. Chant Mantra is recited for happiness in life. Few educated celebrators read Bhgwad Gita for knowledge and God’s blessings. 
• Fed cows as a charity activity on the festival day and visited temples of Shiri Krishna and Vishnu to present worship to them. Offer Vishnu prayers to Shri Krishna for success and to remove all the puzzles and hurdles from life
