Heramba Sankashta Chaturthi

Heramba Sankashta Chaturthi is a festival of Hindus on which worship is presented to Ganesha. Shravana and Krishna Paksha are related to the month and Paksha of this event. It is only celebrated in the cities in the northern part of India. According to the Gregorian calendar, it will be arranged in September, but in the Malayalam calendar, Karkadika Masam is its month of celebration. Maha Ganpati is the worshipped avatar of Ganesha on this gala, and his idols are wrapped in the Ganesha dress before the start of the event.

Ritualistic acts related to Heramba Sankashta Chaturthi

There are two kinds of the fast presented to Ganesha and the Heramba Ganpati at this event. In the first kind, the fasting can eat various fruits during the fast and has less reward; in the second type of fast, the fasting person cannot eat anything till the Vrat end and has more reward. Ganesha followers must get up as the sun rises and move to the Holy rivers to bathe. After bathing, Heramba idols will be decorated with Durva, and he will wear flower garlands. By Lighting lamps Puja will be presented; at Puja’s end, Bhajans and Heramba Manters will be recited.
