Islamic New Year

In the calendar of the Muslims, the new year starts on the 1st of Muharam, and the celebrations performed on the day are related to the new year in Islam according to the Muslims, and the day is named Islamic New Year. This day is celebrated according to the moon’s motion from one point to the other; for this reason, it is called the Lunar year. The Muslims in the mosques perform various celebrations on the same day. 

How Islamic New Year is important

This day has great importance in the Islamic religion. The worships performed are prayers to God, and few people offer fasts to God to get the blessings of God. There are different complex works done by the Prophet (S.A.W), which are also appreciated today. For this purpose, the Government of india gives a right to Indian Muslims to celebrate this event. It is also celebrated on the governmental level in india. 

Celebrations related to Islamic New Year

There are no fixed worships linked to this event. It depends upon the mind of every person how he celebrates this day. The worship is offered to God by a few people. The other people recite the Quran till the end of the day. The fasting activities are also performed on the same day. The most important activity related to the day is the activity of Sadaqah Jariyah. Special prayer activities are performed in the mosques, and the cooked foods are divided among the people. Another activity present on the event day is the Nafil activity. It can be arranged in the home or the mosque. There is an excellent reward for Nafil activity by God if someone presents it by the heart.
