Jamat Ul-Vida

The day celebrated by the people that belong to the Islamic religion in their holy month, Ramadan, is called Jamat Ul-Vida. According to the calendar of Muslims, Ramadan comes after the first eight months. All over the region of India, the people linked to the Islamic religion also celebrate this day. The Friday that comes at the end of Ramadan is also named this day. This was the month when the holy Quran was received by the Last prophet (S.A.W). In 2023, it will be celebrated on the 21st of April.
Celebrations of Jamat Ul-Vida in India
In India, all the Muslim communities wake up at midnight. All take a bath and offer prayer in the mosques. The whole day is celebrated as the last Friday of Ramadan. There is a tremendous holy ceremony on this day where all Muslims recite the holy Quran. There are different celebrations of this day in Hyderabad. The people living in Hyderabad go to the Mecca mosque, where they offer their prayers. The Quran recitation ceremony is also arranged in the Mecca mosque. The Mecca Mosque area is so large that thousands of people can offer prayer in it simultaneously.
Foods on Jamat Ul-Vida
The people cook the foods in the evening that are taken while breaking the fast. All the traditional foods are prepared on this day. The main foods prepared are sweets, water, Kheer mix, and bread. Most people serve other people to break the fast in their homes. According to the Muslim concept about this day, Allah listens to every Dua this Friday due to the effect of the day’s fast. There are lavish ceremonies arranged in the Masjids and homes at the end of the day in which all the families gather and decide about the coming Eid. There is a scene of happiness on the event day.
