Janmashtami *Smarta

The day arranged to celebrate the birthday of Krishna is called Janmashtami *Smarta. There is no public holiday on the day of the event. Various rituals related to Krishna are performed in the temples. There is an optional vacation in the various institutes like universities and offices of india. The day’s rituals are performed in the temples of Janmashtami, and Puja is also offered to the Janmashtami. 

Rituals related to Janmashtami *Smarta

• The first and main ritual is bathing, in which the activities related to bathing are performed. People gathered on the edges of holy rivers and took holy baths in the rivers for the Krihsna blessings. 
• The fasting activity is also performed. The Parana activity related to the day is arranged after the fast. The fast of the event consists of more than twelve hours. And the Krishna Puja is also presented while the fast. 
• The foods included in the Bhoga are rice and white sweets. As the fast time ends, the fast-offering person takes these as the Bhoga. Other than the fast offering, people can also take the Bhoga foods. 
• The Prasad food is also distributed, and the Bhoga can be disturbed as the Prasad. The Prasad distribution ceremony is arranged after the Aarti. The main deserves of Prasad are the poor, and it is distributed among them.
• To get the unlimited blessings of the Krishna, a special food material is presented to it. The leaves of the Tulsi plants are taken for this purpose, and these are added to the fresh milk of the cow and then presented to the Lord named Krishna.
