Kamika Ekadashi

More than 20 Ekadashis are celebrated by Hindus in India in which religious acts are performed. Among more than 20 Ekadashis, Kamika Ekadashi is one of them, and the most worshipped God on this holy day is Vishnu. Vishnu is taken to Yamuna and Ganga to bring a sacred bath. After Vishnu’s bathing, it is dried, new Vishnu clothes on which art is displayed are worn to him, and his decoration is started. After decoration, Puja is offered to him at the river edges. It is also related to Shukla Paksha.
How Kamika Ekadashi is an important day
This is important for all Hindus as, on this day, worship is offered to Vishnu in Vishnu temples and edges of Yamuna and Ganga. Besides Vishnu, Krishna Idols are also decorated with lights; their art is displayed on Mander walls. Devotes come to the temple in the morning, but only some offers worship after bathing in Ganga or Yamuna at these river edges. Prayers for salvation and future happiness are demanded from Vishnu, and he blesses and clears the sins of those who have worshipped Kamika day.
Celebrations on Kamika Ekadashi
Krishna and Vishnu worshippers get up at midnight and bathe for soul relief. After bathing, Puja is offered to Vishnu, and a garland of white flowers is offered to him. To please Vishnu, Tulsi Patra is provided to him, and Bhog is distributed while offering time of Bhog among Puja performers. In Bhog, various food products like fruits are also presented to Vishnu and Krishna for their blessings.
