Kevda Trij

Kevda Trij is the Vrat festival where the celebrators perform the Vrat ritual act. It is specially arranged in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar by women. Vrat of this day is offered for the Parwati blessings over two days, but mostly arrange this Vrat only for one day on Trij day. Gujrat and Rajasthan women also offer Vrat to Parwati to get Parwati blessings ( especially wealth and prosperity) from her. 

Celebrations on Kevda Trij

Women are the celebrators of this gala, so they especially celebrate it. All the celebrator women wore new red clothes after taking a holy bath. Few wore green clothes also according to their customs. After getting ready by wearing new clothes and decorating themselves with ornaments, they come to the temple to offer Parwati Puja to Parwati. Fruits are also taken to the temple to present them to Parwati, and green vegetables are cooked in her honor. After Parwati worships, Shiva is worshipped, and the Kevda flower is given to his idol. Few women also cook coconut dishes at this festival. 

Vrat offered on Kevda Trij

This festival Vrat is important for getting the blessings of Parwti, Shiva and Vishnu. According to the old scripts of Hindus, this day is also significant for marrying whom you love by offering a fast to Parwati. Nirjala is the strict form of offered Vrat to Parwati, and it is presented to Parwati by married and unmarried couples. To break the fast, a ceremony is arranged at the homes where the fasting persons are served Satvik and coconut-cooked foods.
