Kojagara Puja

Kojagara Puja is the great festival of the Hindus in which Lakshmi is considered the Goddess of Humans and all other things present in this universe. A new Mander of the Lakshmi is built on this day. All the old Manders that are present in India are broken. The constructive material used in the old Manders can be used for constructing the new Manders. But the idols placed in the old Manders cannot be used for placing them in the new Manders. In addition, the other material, like the Puja bowls, cannot be used in the New Manders for the Puja activity. In addition, the Lakshmi and the Shiva fasts are also offered on Kojagara Puja day. Purnima is the holy month of the Hindus in which the event is celebrated. Still, the preparation of the worship to be offered on the event day is started one day before the event, and the Kojagara Puja is also performed on this great event.

The other name used in place of Kojagara Puja is Bengal Lakshmi Puja. The Lakshmi gives all the wealth in each person’s pocket, and she is awarded for this reason with great prayers and worship. Prosperity is also given to the people by Lakshami on Kojagara Puja day due to the Lakshami Vrat. The fast that is offered on the Kojagara Puja is kept at midnight. The Lakshmi Puja ceremony also starts at midnight and ends when the festival duration ends.

Arrangements for Kojagara Puja

The women make great arrangements on this day in those arrangements, and the first arrangement is the drawing of the feet of Lakshmi. The Alpana is drawn in the front of the Manders and houses, showing that it is the feet of Lakshmi. Naru and sweets are also offered to the Lakshmi. The Naru and the sweets are homemade that is prepared by the worship offering persons. The Bhajans and the Manters of the Lakshami are also offered to the Lakshami so that she feels happy and prospers the whole society.
