Kokila Vrat

In Hindus, Vrat is offered to the gods and goddesses for their blessings. It is arranged for the entire day or a few hours according to the customs of India. Mostly Males do not observe it but are mainly offered by the women of India. Kokila Vrat is the Vrat presented to Parwati to get Parwati’s blessings and to make her happy. This day is celebrated in Ashada in the temples of Parwati and Shiva. 

Significance related to Kokila Vrat

This is the day when the prayers and fast are presented to Parwati for various purposes. The Parwati idols are decorated with new dresses, and Parwati blesses the decorator person with prosperity and Parwati wealth. Dosha is the power that causes hurdles in the life of women. So worshipping the Parvati on this event, the women’s got free of the Dausha named Bhauma Dosha. 

Rituals associated with Kokila Vrat

• This Vrat day is essential for worshipping Parwati, and other than Parwati, various animals and birds are also worshipped on this festival. 
• Among birds, the crow is the most worshipped bird, and among the animals, cows are the most worshipped for specific reasons. 
• The cow is the Mata of all Hindus, and according to the Hindus, three universes live inside the cow, and the cow blesses all the living and non-living of the three universes with her blessings. 
• This Vrat is presented for more than eight days, and various foods are presented to cows, and the food items are made from cow milk.
