Krishnapingala Sankashta Chaturthi

Krishnapingala Sankashta Chaturthi is the festival celebrated in Ashada according to the Hindus calendar. The two Chaturthi days in the Hindus are celebrated as the Sankashta day Krishnapingala Sankashta is one of that days. This Chaturthi is dedicated to Ganesh, and Ganesh Chaturthi idols are worshipped. The day is considered best for the solution of all life problems.

This festival tells Ganesha lovers about the importance of worshipping Ganesha. They arrange a prayer ceremony where various worships, including Puja Vithi, are presented to him. For sins forgiveness, Ganpati Puja is performed, and after the Ganpati Puja, Fasting worship is started, considered best for the ancestor’s salvation. Shiva and Parvati are worshipped with the Ganpati Puja, as these are the parents of Ganesha.

• To get free from your and your ancestor’s sins, offer fast to Ganesha and Shiva along with Parwati.
• Helping the poor and donating new clothes to deservers is also included in the Puja Vidhi of this event. 
• The fasting person is allowed to eat fruits while the fasting duration but wheat and alcohol are prohibited.
• Light a few Diyas before Ganesha and present Diyas to Shiva and Parwati for their blessings. 
• Ganpati Chant Mantra must be recited as the event day Manter in honour of Ganesha.
• Modak function is held in which Bhog is served to the Ganesha; after serving Bhog to Ganesha, Aartri activity is performed for Ganesha’s happiness and Ganesha’s special blessings.
