Krishnapingala Sankashtahara Chaturthi

Krishnapingala Sankashtahara Chaturthi is a Hindu festival whose celebrations are related to Krishna Paksha. As the celebrations of Krishna Paksha are started, celebrations of this event are also started, and both events are arranged in Jayeshta. Ganesha is the worshipped God on this day, decorated and worshipped in different forms. It is said that, due to Ganesha, the problems related to health are solved on earth. 

Rituals related to Krishnapingala Sankashtahara Chaturthi

• Krishnapingala fast is offered to Ganesha to get free from all committed sins. In addition, Puja is offered to Ganesha for ancestors’ salvation. 
• The worshiper of the day must get up in the morning to bathe at Ganga or Yamuna. Brahmins are also fed on this day as an event charity activity, and clothes are donated to them.
• The fast of this event has strict rules as few food items cannot be taken, like rice and wheat. Other than wheat and rice, lentils are also prohibited on this day. 
• Durva grass is presented to Ganesha as a gift, and his idols are decorated. For decorating the idols of Ganesha, mostly flowers are used. 
• Meditation activities are also performed on this day. In addition, Ganesha Puja is presented to him by closing both hands or taking Ganesha Diya in Hand. 
• At the end of all worship, Ganesha Aarti is presented to him, and prayers are offered for the best of luck and prosperity in life. In addition, this day is important for Ganesh’s salvation.
