Kurma Jayanti

Kurma Jayanti is a Hindu event, also called Shri Koorma Jayanti. This day is also dedicated to Vishnu, and various Vishnu avatars are worshipped. The Avatar of Vishnu worshipped on this Jayanti is called a tortoise. Samurda Mathan happened in india when Vishnu came to india in tortoise avatar form, and he lifted Mandarachal mountain. This work of Vishnu is also appreciated at this gala.

• Like other events, the bath is taken on the festival day morning, and after bathing, the taker wears a new Puja dress. 
• Worships are presented to Vishnu in his temples. While offering worship to Vishnu, various items are presented to him.  
• In offering items to Vishnu, Chandan and Tulsi Leaves are the most offered items to the Vishnu worshippers. 
• The Vrat of this day is called Kurma Vrat, honored to Vishnu and Shri Krishna, and concluded with Satvik food. 
• While fasting time, only a few products are allowed if the fasting person wants to take them; milk and fruit products are included.
• Aartii and Manter’s activities are performed after breaking the fast in the Vishnu temple, and these are also included in event rituals. 

Importance of celebrating Kurma Jayanti

This day is important as it is one when Vishnu is worshipped in the Kurma avatar form. If someone wants to start construction-related work, he has to perform Kurma worship on this day, and after worshipping Kurma, he has to start the construction works as it will be best for him. Few people thought that by offering Kurma worship on this gala, Kurma blessed his worshipper with prosperity and unlimited wealth.
