Lambodara Sankashta Chaturthi

Lambodara Sankashta Chaturthi is an important Hindu event on which Ganesha idols are worshipped with the Ganesha worships. Krishna Paksha celebrations are related to this Chaturthi. Lambodara is the Ganesha avatar form, so Ganesha fast is presented for his blessings. The elephant head is worshipped in its idol form as it is also an avatar form of Ganesha.

Ganesha followers move to the temple to present Puja to Ganesha and various avatars of Ganesha. Fast is observed by the women for Ganesha blessings and to get long life from Lambodara for their children. After Puja, the Lambodara Parana ceremony is started in which Manters of Ganesh are recited, and Bhagwid Gita’s first chapters are explained to youth to inform them about Lambodara’s importance. New clothes are presented to Lambodara after bathing him in Ganga, and children sing his songs there. At the end of Puja Vithi, a fast concluding ceremony is arranged in which Lambodara fast is concluded with Satvik food enriched in butter.
