April 6, 2023

Madana Pournami

Madana Pournami is a Hindu event celebrated in India’s various southern states, especially Andhra Pradesh. In 2022, it was arranged for the 18th of March. There are various rituals performed on this day. Among those rituals, the prominent ritual is Kamadahanam. Lok Kalyanam is the Hindu term used for peace but is prominently used by the old Puja worshippers. To get Lok Kalyanam, Puja activity is performed on this day.

Bonfire ritual on Madana Pournami

Celebrators for the Madana and Shiva Lok Kalyanam move to the relative God temples for the Puja act. There, they perform the Bonfire ritual. For this purpose, a huge fire in front of Madana God arts is burned. Tulsi leaves are added to the fire after it gets huge to make the air fragrant with the fragrance of Tulsi leaves. As the fire gets huge, the Puja ritual starts, which it offers to the Bonfire. Temple is divided into two halves, and the God idol is placed in the center. One side is fixed for the women and one for the men, and a bonfire ritual is performed on both sides of the temple in God’s honor.
