Makara Sankranti

The Legend God that is worshipped on this day is the Surya. This festival is great for all Hindus from all over India. The activities on this day include the bath and worship on the Surya. It is also celebrated according to the sun’s movement from one region to another, depending on its position. Other than the Surya, the sun is also worshipped on Makara Sankranti. This Sankranti is also known as the Legend Sankranti from all over India. Great prayers are offered on this day to God while offering the Puja to them. In 2023, it was celebrated on the 15th of January. The Punya Kaal is the activity that is also performed on this day at a particular time. The time for the Punya Kaal is suggested yearly according to the sun’s motion.

Worships performed on Makara Sankranti.

• The first work is to start the day with good work. As the day starts, offer Puja to the Surya that is calculated in the excellent work of the day. Other than the Puja, bathing is also considered good work. 
• In addition, wheat flour is also offered to the Gods. The wheat flour that will be offered to the Gods must be fresh. It is prepared one day before starting the event. Besides wheat flour, the sweet water made on this day is also offered to the Gods. Water offering is also a positive activity presented on the event day.
• The charity activities named Makara Sankranti charity are also suggested for the poor on this special day. In charity activities, new clothes are offered to the poor and those who deserve them. 
• The food is offered to the Brahmins. The food offered to the Brahmins is named Brahmins food on Makara Sankranti day. By offering them the food, great wealth is given by God to the food-offering person.
• There are a few other activities that are also performed on this day. Those activities one activity is named Yajna, and the other activity is named Hawan. The Yajna activity is performed in the Manders in front of temples on Makara Sankranti day.
