Mandalakala Pooja

Mandalakala Pooja is the Puja worship presented to Ayyapa at Ayyapa temples in Kerala. Mandala Kalam is concluded after this Puja Vithi by offering prayers to Ayyapa in Ayyapa temples. All Ayyapa worshippers come to the Ayyapa temple before sunrise to offer Madala Puja. Before presenting Puja to Ayyapa, Ayyapa idols are decorated and washed in holy river water. This event consisted of 41 days of celebrations performed in Ayyapa temples, and a fast was also offered to Ayyapa for 41 days. 

Significance about Mandalakala Pooja

Due to event celebrations, Ayyapa temples stay open all day. Ayyapa followers come to the temple to offer prayers for blessings. Ayyapa blesses worshippers with happiness and removes all the hurdles from the life of every worshipper with his powers. In addition, the importance of this gala is also written in the Bhagwad Gita and Puranas of Hindus. Puja people receive soul peace and spirituality in the reward of worship. 

Routine acts related to Mandalakala Pooja

Ayyapa idols are decorated with garlands and ornaments. Women celebrators present all their ornaments to Ayyapa in his Mander. The purpose of women offering their ornaments to Ayyapa is to get good health and long life for their children. People bathed at midnight and moved to the temple to present Puja. Vishnu is the main Hindus God, so his followers also worship him after the Mandala Puja activity on this day. Food is served to Deservers, and Bhog is distributed among Puja people after Mandala Puja.
