Margashirsha Purnima

The Purnima celebrated in the month of Margashirsha is called Margashirsha Purnima. There are the names dedicated to this event; in those names, one name is Korala Purnima. The activities being done on this day are charity activities and worship-related activities. The bathing activities related to the Margashirsha Purnima are performed on the edges of Haridwar. People who cannot approach the Haridwar can also go to the Banaras rivers for bathing. The water of the Haridwar has the same importance as the water of Banaras. The bath taken on this day has importance as the sins are removed due to it.

How Margashirsha Purnima is important

Activities are done on this day in the Love of the primary God, Vishnu. The holy texts are also written on this day and dedicated to Vishnu. The texts written on this day are offered to the Vishnu idols in the Mander of Vishnu. In addition, there are worships on Margashirsha Purnima dedicated to Shiva that are also performed on this day. A great respect from God is received by the one whole who will worship the Shiva. The respect God receives on this day is in the form of Love and the wealth of God. Due to all these reasons, Margashirsha Purnima is also named Divinity day.

A unique bath is taken on this day, and the water that will be used while the bathing will also be unique as the leaves of Basil will be added to it. The water used for bathing on this day is more important than the water in the Ganga river. There will be Margashirsha Purnima food activities that will be performed after the Puja activity. The Arghya is also presented to the moon, and it is necessary; otherwise, the worship of the day will remain incomplete. The fasts are offered to the Moon God on Margashirsha Purnima day to get the moon’s blessings relating to success and happiness.
