Mukkoti Ekadasi

Vaikuntha Ekadashi is another name for Mukkoti Ekadashi, and its celebrations are related to this Ekadashi. This day has great importance for the lovers of Vishnu as Vishnu worship are offered at this festival. Shri Hari is considered another form of Vishnu, and his idols are decorated with Vishnu personal dress. The month in which it is celebrated is called Margazi. In 2023, it will be arranged on the 2nd of January.
Celebrations on Mukkoti Ekadasi
This festival is celebrated in states of India which are situated in India south. Shrirungam and Tirupati are temples in the Indian south states, and all celebrations related to this festival are organized there. These temples are well decorated, and Shri Hari idols are taken there. Before taking Shri Hari idols in the temple, they are decorated with stones. Rama and Goddess named Lakshmi idols are also taken in the temple for their worship.

- Shri Hari followers have to come to Ganga to take a bath
- After taking a bath, Shri Hari idol worship like Puja will be performed.
- Prayers named Shri Hari prayers will be dedicated to the Shri Hari idol.
- Garlands made of fresh flowers will be presented to Rama and Lakshmi
- Stotram and Katha related to Shri Hari and Vishnu will be recited for blessings
- Tithi on which this event fast will be broken with Satvik food is called Dwadashi Tithi
- While the duration of the festival fast, rice and onion are not allowed to eat.
