Nagara Panchami

Nagara Panchami is an event for Hindus that will be celebrated on the 21st of august in India in 2023. This festival is famous for the worship of Naga. Naga is the Devta of Hindus, mainly worshipped on this festival. Naga is taken to the temple, and worshippers offer Puja to him. At the end of the festival, Naga is washed with oil, and people give clothes to him as a gift event. Shukla Paksha is also related to this Panchami.

This is the day Naga is worshipped with various worships like Puja and fast. Fast presented to Naga at this event is called Naga Fast, and Puja offered to him is called Naga Puja. There are various effects of Fast on the life of an offering person. Among those fast features, one is to get free from the fear of snakes and their bites. The offering of Milk to a snake by a fasting person on this festival during the Fast is also considered auspicious. 

Celebrations on Nagara Panchami

Various food products are offered to snakes at this event. Milk is the favorite drink of Devta, named Naga, provided to him by the fasting person. Idols of snakes are taken to temples, and their art is placed in front of them for worship. Flower garlands are presented to them, and a Puja activity is offered. Mantras related to Naag is also recited in temples, and there is no permission to dig the earth on this day. If snakes are present at the digging point, they will be harmed, and the digger will be damaged in return by Naga Devta.
