Narasimha Jayanthi

Narasimha Jayanthi is one of the holy festivals of Hindus on which Narasimha’s birthday is celebrated. This day is arranged according to updates from Drick Panchang. Tithi belonged to this day is called Chaturdhasi Tithi, and in 2022, it was celebrated on the 14th of May. Vishnu temples are decorated to celebrate Narasimha’s birthday, and Narasimha idols are taken there in illustrated form for Puja and prayers.

Rituals related to Narasimha Jayanthi

• Various God idols are taken to the temples of Vishnu to welcome Narasimha, and Narasimha arts are presented on each God idol. Among Goddesses Puja Vithi, Lakshmi Puja is offered to Lakshmi. 

• The event celebrator has to get up before sunrise or at midnight to bathe and decorate the idols of Narasimha and Lakshmi. When the sun rises, Idols will be taken to the temples, and Puja will be offered to them for Narasimha blessings. 

• While presenting Puja to Narasimha idols, Jaggery will be placed in the Puja bowls. Coconut water is taken after Puja by Puja people to get God’s blessings. Kumkum and fresh Kesar will also be presented to Gods and Goddesses. 
• Charity activity is performed in the donation ceremony of this day, and new clothes will be presented to deservers. It is considered best to offer Sesame seeds to people experiencing poverty as it has more rewards than the charity of other products.
