Rama and Ravana’s story is repeated at this festival. Rama idols are brought to the Vishnu temples to celebrate his victory over the evil God Ravna. People throw stones at Ravana’s idol for discouraging him as he is an evil God and he supports evil societal works. Worshippers of Rama God have to bathe in the holy water of Ganga and Yamuna before Rama Puja. Gifts like swords and various metal protector products are given to Rama’s idol as a reward for his victory from Ravana.
