Nirjala Ekadashi is the Ekadashi which is arranged in Jyeshtha among various Hindus. On this Ekadashi, idols of Vishnu are specially decorated for worship. Ganga river edges are specially decorated with lights, and people go there in the early morning for the activity related to bathing. After bathing, the temples of Vishnu are opened for all bath takers for Vishnu worship. Hanuman Jayanti is also related to this event due to a few celebrations on this day.
How Nirjala Ekadashi is a Significant Ekadashi
This Ekadashi is important from the fasting point of view as people offer fast on this day to Vishnu and Shiva. It is so a strict fast as the fasting persons offer it without using any little quantity of water. A few fasting persons do not consume food. It has great importance in the Hindus as this fast causes them to gain salvation from Vishnu, and their sins are also cleared due to this fast. After the fast, special prayers for the ancestors are offered for their forgiveness.
Celebrations on Nirjala Ekadashi
The celebrations are performed one day before in the form of the decoration of temples and homes. Light decorators are hired from the light market and taken to the temple for temple decoration. While breaking the fast, Parana activity is performed, which is related to this event fast. Without Parana’s activity event fast is incomplete, and the fasting person cannot gain Vishnu salvation. In addition, Prasad is offered to gods on this day as an event day gift.
