Onam

Onam is a festival of the Hindus that is celebrated in Kerala state. There is an excellent gathering of people from the whole of Kerala state when this festival is celebrated in the Kerala state. In the history of Onam, it is thought that there is no festival like this when there is an excellent gathering of the people like the gathering of people on this event. The duration of the Onam consists of ten days. On this festival, the Mahabali also attends the event that is the king of state Mahabali. In 2022, Onam was started on the 30th of August and ended on the 8th of September. While according to the latest date of celebrations of Onam in 2023, it will come on the 20th of August and end on the 31st of August. The Onam festival will start on Sunday, and when it is finished, the day will be Thursday. 

Onam days Works

The works done on the Onam festival include bathing, great Puja, special fasting, Gifts offerings, and many more. All the results offered on this day to the Lord are present as a picture or Idol. The details of all the work done during the event days are given below.

Bathing

This is only the festival that all members of the family celebrate. All the members of a particular family get up at the first sunrise and go to the Ganga river or their private baths, where they take the Onam bath. By taking a bath daily on this festival, all sins of all family members are cleared by the Vishnu. 

Puja and Onam songs

The Poja is offered to the Idols daily from the start to the end of the festival. The songs related to the event are also played in the temple daily. There is an excellent gathering of people in the temple when the songs are played. The songs played are related to the virtuous category and are liked by all religious people.

Special fasting

Special daily fasting is also offered from the first day of the event to the last day. One who provides all the ten fasts of event, all his sins are forgiven by God, and a special place in the private room of Vishnu in heaven is given to it. Other than the place in the Vishnu home, the unlimited blessings of Vishnu are also offered to it in the form of life, prosperity, health, and wealth.

Gifts

The people share unique gifts—the increase in prosperity in that society. A society where contributions are shared among the people of it is happy. Gift sharing is added to the festival traditions, and different gifts are shared among the people. The gift items shared during these ten days include flowers of various kinds, idol gifts, etc.
