Parashurama Dwadashi

The festival arranged in the Hindu community in honor of Parashurama is called Parashurama Dwadashi. On this day, a Vrat is offered to the Parashurama in the temples of Parashurama in the southern Indian states. The Parashurama Prayers are shown in the Vishnu temples by decorating the Vishnu and Parashurama idols. Diyas are placed in the font or taken in hands to offer Puja to the Gods. Parashurama is Vishnu’s avatar, extensively worshipped on the event day. Ganesh Mantras are recited on the event night in Ganesh temple in front of his idol. 

Penance activity on Parashurama Dwadashi

Penance activity is the primary worship performed in the temples in the God’s decorated idols front. There are various impacts of Penance activity as the sins of the offering person and the sins of the ancestors of presenting person are cleared due to this activity. In addition, Puja is also offered to Parashurama for happiness and to make him pleased. Due to all these rituals, it is also called Jamdagnya Parashurama. 

Routine works on Parashurama Dwadashi

The event day will start as the sun rises, and after the rising sun, the celebrators and worshippers have to go to the rivers for a holy bath. After taking an event holy bath, the idols of Parashurama are decorated for worshipping him. For decoration, flowers and various ornaments are used. After the Puja act, the Parashurama Vrat activity is performed by old religious people. For the ancestor’s salvation, bonfire worship is arranged by Vrat performers.
