• The starting day that is celebrated as a Pongal event is named the Bhogi festival
• The day after starting day is dedicated to Pongal is named Thai Pongal.
• The day after the Thai Pongal is presented as Pongal is named Mattu Pongal.
• The day after the Mattu Pongal is suggested as Pongal is named Kannum Pongal.

Important information about Pongal

There are harvesting seasons in India when the crops grown in the last season are harvested during the event, which is celebrated in honor of God, due to which the crops grow and become able to be harvested. The significant activities at this festival are celebrated to pay special thanks to God. The God to which the thanks are paid is the Sun God. A special dish is also prepared on this day and has a unique name. The name that is given to the dish that is prepared on this day is the Pongal dish.
