Puthandu

Varusha Pirappu is the title of the event dedicated to Puthandu. It is a Tamil festival arranged by the Tamil communities in the Tamil month named Chithirai. It is based on the Sankranti events as celebrated according to them. When the sun rises on the 14th of April, the fasting time will be started, and when the sun sets, the Fast duration will be completed, and the fast offering person is allowed to break the fast.

Homes decoration

When a day remains from the celebrations of this festival, all the homes of the Tamil community people are washed by them. It is said that if one who will wash his home before the event, all the baddies will be removed from his house. 

Fruit dish

The fruit dish is prepared in which a variety of fruits are added. This dish is offered to God, having different flowers in it. All around, there is a scene of happiness, and everybody face looks smiling due to the happy moments of the event.

Vegetarian feast

Only some people offer a fast on this event, and to break the fast, a special feast is prepared in which all the family members take a meal together. The feast taken together is called a Vegetarian feast on the gala. 

Best wishes

The people tell their best wishes to each other through various platforms. A few people hear the Mata songs, and few offer prayer to them. The event goes end by showing Puja to the Tamil Gods.
