Randhan Chhath

Randhan Chhath is the most celebrated event of Hindus and also a festival part of the Gujarati calendar. Before the celebrations of Shitala Satam, this event is celebrated by all Hindus. Shitala Satam celebration month is Shravan, and Paksha about is Krishna Paksha and after this Chhath, Chhath day is celebrated. Devis are worshipped on this festival, and the most prominent worshipped Devi is Shitala Devi. 

Routine acts linked to Randhan Chhath 

Food making is included in this event’s most performed rituals, and women participate in it. Cooking activities are performed as Shitala Devi feels happy due to this act. According to Hindus, the favourite work of Shitala Devi was cooking, so all women and a few men performed cooking activities from the start to the end of the festival day. The cooked food is presented to Shitala for her blessings and also used for breaking fast. 

Celebrations on Randhan Chhath 

Shitala worshippers can only use milk at the end of the event. Full day fasting person cannot use anything, even fruits. Prayers will be offered to Shitala in her honour. After offering Shitala prayers, Shitala idols will be wrapped in clean red clothes and taken to Manders for the Puja Act. As the Puja act will be performed, Shitala devotional songs, her Manters, and Bhajans will be recited for blessings. In the charity activities, Cooked foods will be given to all Shitala Brahmins, and the wealthy followers of Shitala will also award them the new clothes.
