Sarva Pitru Amavasya

In 2023, the Sarva Pitru Amavasya event will be celebrated on the 14th of October. In this event, all the persons who have died are worshipped. All the worship is related to the dead persons. In addition, the Puja of the Pitru is performed on this day. Bhadrapada month is fixed for the celebrations of this event. The date of this month has also been improved, and all the festivals related to Sarva Pitru Amavasya are performed on this day. There are specific activities that are related to the tarpan are also performed on this day. Most people complete the worship for their ancestors. There is an individual donation that is performed after the prayer activities. The White color dress ceremony is also presented in the Mander.

Shraddh Ceremony

On Sarva Pitru Amavasya, the Shraddh ceremony is suggested. The males perform all the suggestions that are related to the Shraddh. For the Shraddh ceremony, all the performers have to wear yellow clothes. In addition, the Shraddh food must be prepared on the day the Shraddh materials are added. The items that are related to the Shraddh consist of flowers of various kinds. White flowers are the central flowers that are added to the Shraddh. As usual, the food cooked on the day is taken to the next day in the Mander for God’s offers. This way, the Shraddh ceremony is completed by offering prayers and other worship like Shraddh fast.

Brahmins feeding

Brahmin feeding is the main activity that is performed on this day. Different items are taken to the Mander during the Brahmin’s feeding ceremony. The exceptional Brahmin food prepared on the day of Sarva Pitru Amavasya is taken to the Mander. Before offering all the prayers, the food given to the Mander is provided to the Temple care person. The Bhashan is offered there, and then the food is taken in front of Idol. the worship starts there and then at the end of the glorification, the food is offered to the people. In the food, the materials added include Red flowers, Kishmish, and Tulsi.

Lord on Sarva Pitru Amavasya

The Lord that is worshipped in this event is Yama. All the worship is related to the rules of the Yama. The Bhushan activity is also associated with the Yama. The Yama fast is offered as the sun comes into view. Wheat, grains, honey, and a small amount of Tulsi are used for fast movement. In addition to this, the Yama Poja is also performed by a few people. The white dresses are necessary while offering the Yama Poja. The special prayers are presented to the Yama for the great salvation of ancestors.
