Shattila Ekadashi

Shattila Ekadashi is the religious event of the Hindus on which they offer fasts and other worship of the day to the Vishnu. Other than Vishnu, Shiva is also worshipped at this event by a few people. The fast offered at this event is not easy, so the fast presented on this day is called a strict fast. This event is also related to the Krishna Paksha, and the month it is arranged is called Magha.

This event is important in the Hindu religion as they receive unlimited blessings from God on this day. Their main blessings on this day are the ancestor’s salvation. All the sins of the worshipper are cleared, and their ancestors come under the protection of the Vishnu God. to get salvation for the ancestors, the oil is offered to the God, and the offered oil is called Sesame oil. Few people present seeds of Sesame instead of its oil for the ancestors and themselves salvation. 

Important rituals on Shattila Ekadashi

• The event’s worshipper must take a bath to get holy and be able to worship the festival. The Puja is offered to the Gods named Vishnu and Shiva in their respective temple. Divide Bhog among the worshipper after Puja. 
• Women offer Puja to God’s idols in their homes. They decorate and offer food to him. The food offered to Vishnu is Cow milk and sugar. The Tulsi Patra is also offered to him. Otherwise, the offered food is considered incomplete. 
• The homes are decorated with Flowers, and the Garlands are presented to the idols of Gods. For breaking the event’s fast, the Satvik food is cooked, first presented to God, and then used for breaking fast.
