Sheetala Ashtami

Sheetala Ashtami is a Hindu festival day that is celebrated in honor of Sheetala that is one of the most respectable goddesses of Hindus. As the Holidays passed, the days of Sheetala Ashtami started. Offering people also remain safe from the diseases such as chicken pox. The Sheetala Ashtami festival consists of 12 hours over a few minutes, about 15 minutes. This festival is celebrated by the people that are living in the areas of Uttar Pradesh and Gujrat. 

Significance of Sheetala Ashtami

Sheetala Ashtami is significant as it occurs in the holy month of Chaitra. The Goddess Sheetala is worshipped. Celebrators make Puja of Sheetala. On the morning of Sheetala Ashtami day, it is necessary to bathe with cold water. After taking a bath, the worshiper has to move to the temple of Sheetala, where Sheetala will be ready to worship it. Special Poja is made there to make Sheetala happy. There are certain more religious activities that are performed on Sheetala Ashtami day. Mata Sheetala is worshipped on this day also. To live a healthy life, the Sheetala is worshipped by fasting. The food is also prepared for offering Goddess. In addition, the woman offers special prayers to Sheetala to get unlimited wealth for her children. People offer Puja to Mata Sheetala, and hot foods are not used on this day in honor of Mata Sheetala.
