Shortest Day of the Year

The solstices are of two kinds. One Solstice occurred in the month named December, and the other Solstice came in the month named June. The Solstice that happens in December is also called the Shortest Day of the Year. It does not happen all over the line of the equator. The short-day Solstice occurred at various points on the equator. The point of the equator on which the short-day Solstice happened is called the north equator point. It does not appear on the South equator point. 

Astronomy of Shortest Day of the Year

As there are various points mentioned on the equator line; among those points, the main points are the hemisphere called the southern hemisphere point, and the other is also the hemisphere named the northern hemisphere. As the sun transition phenomenon takes place, the sun moves toward the north point of the equator, and the day is short and short. During this day, the duration is limited to a few hours, and the night of the day is called the most prominent night. 

Why Shortest Day of Year occur

The reason behind the shortest day year is the Tilting of the Earth. The angle at which the Earth is titled is 23.4 degrees. The northern earth part is less tilted toward the sun, and the southern part is more. This is why the sun’s rays that fall on the Earth’s southern part are more significant than the Earth’s northern part, and the day seems to be shorter in the northern region areas, and night seems to be enlarged. This is also affected by the seasons and season changes due to this Solstice of the year.
