Shree Rama Navami

The event celebrated on the 30th of March in 2023 in India is called Shree Rama Navami. On this festival, a birthday related to Rama is celebrated by the followers of Rama in the Vishnu temples. The Puja activity performed on this day is called Puja Muhurat, which starts at 11:11 am and concludes at 01:40 pm. Rama is another form of Vishnu and is included in the Seventh Vishnu avatar. 

Reason for celebrating Shree Rama Navami

The main reason behind the celebrations of this festival is that it marks the birthday ceremony of Rama, and the celebrations related to the birthday of Rama are arranged in the various Vishnu temples. When Rama was born, Tithi on that day was Navami Tithi, due to which Navami Tithi is also celebrated on the festival. In addition, Rama is the avatar form of the prominent God Vishnu, due to which it is necessary to honour him, and this day is considered best for honouring Rama.

• Among offered worship to Rama at this gala, the primary worship is the Rama fast, which is dedicated to Rama for more than ten hours.
• Rama is worshipped in various forms, of which Rama Puja and Rama Fast are central. Epics written on the Rama are recited in the temples for his blessings. 
• Nama Ramayanam is the primary recited epic and marriage anniversary of Rama and Sita, also held in Rama Temples. For breaking fast, Satvik food is cooked.
