Soubhagya Gauri Vrat is Hindus Vrat day in which Soubhagya Vratam is offered to Gauri. Gauri is the holiest Mata of Hindus after Shiva, also called Mata of salvation after Vishnu. More than one time, this event is arranged in the same year. The month in which it is celebrated is called Chaitra. According to the Gregorian calendar, it will be celebrated on the 24th of March with great devotion in Gauri temples in India.
Fasting on Soubhagya Gauri Vrat
Fasting rituals performed on this festival day are also called Vratam, offered by women. Married women offer it to get long life for Gauri for their children and husbands. Only some women call events fast with the name called Upavasam. Other than fasting, married women also offer Puja to Parawti for her blessings. They take decorated Parwati idols in Gauri temples and take them a bath for worshipping. With bathing, Parwati worship would be accepted.
Ganesha and Shiva Puja on Soubhagya Gauri Vrat
Gauri Mata is called a relative of Ganesha. For this reason, Ganesha is also worshipped on this day. Gauri idols are bathed with Heldi and wrapped in yellow dresses to offer Puja to her. After Gauri worship, Ganesha’s various forms and Shiva idols are worshipped with the Puja act. Fast is also presented to Ganesha and Shiva named Shiva Ganesha fast, and prayers of this day are dedicated to Gauri. After all the Gauri ritual worships, Satvik food, named Gauri Satvik food, is divided among Gauri Puja worshippers.
